Looking For Replacement Heavy Duty Mower Blade

Hello,

Please forgive me (and move if appropriate) if this is in the wrong place.

This blade is for a walk behind brush mower. It is 1/4" thick and reversible meaning that it has no lift. I did find some numbers stamped into the blade. It looks like "PDO 6297" I am hoping that someone might recognize this part number format and can point me to the original manufacturer.

Alternately I would appreciate any references to online mower blade stores that may have this kind of blade.

Thanks,
Steve

Now that would be too easy! ;)

It is a generic, flat, reversible (no lift) 26" blade with a 1" arbor hole. It is heavy-duty at 1/4" thick and is designed to work on a brush mower.

I was hoping that the part number would get me to the original manufacturer but anything that meets these specs should also work.

So you want us to do all the work for you, when we, if we don't know what it goes on, model, engine, how old, ect ect we would also google it. Just get you a 26" by 3 inch wide piece of metal 1/4 inch thick, drill a 1" hole in the center and sharpen it....

Well, if you recognize the part number format there wouldn't be much work.

However, I work as a volunteer with a state non-profit trail club and we use two similar mowers to keep brush at bay on the trail during the summer months. These are DR mowers, one 26" and the other 30" Now knowing this in probably not going to help much because due to the relatively low volume of these mowers sold compared to all of the others.

Because of the the low volume DR doesn't manufacture many of their own parts other than specific metal frames. They get generic parts, like blades, from somewhere else.

If you have ever dealt with DR what you may save on the initial mower purchase gets made up in the price of parts. So a single one of these blades goes for about $80 door-to-door.

Yes, this should probably be a generic $10-15 blade. It is just 1/4" flat steel with a hole in it and sharpened on 4 edges. No fancy bends, curves or anything else to add manufacturing cost. So I am attempting to find a more economical source for these as some sections of trail are somewhat problematic with rocks.

Thanks,
Steve

Thanks for the references. Unfortunately, most of the sites that I have found, including these, have terrible search functions that return several thousands of hits when searching for "blade". Most of the search results aren't even cutting blades but irrelevant other mower parts.

Steve,

This is a 26" DR Mower sand blade. It should also have 100491 stamped on it which is the DR part number. I know the original manufacturer cannot sell it to you, but DR should be able to tell you what your options are by giving them this part number.

As I already mentioned I know where this blade comes from and where to get it if I want to "bend over and assume the position" and pay $75-100 for what should be a generic $10 blade. This is for a non-profit trail club that I work with which like every other organization has been hit hard in the bank account by Covid.
