:laugh: It snowed here last night. No mowing in the western part of the state.

 

Congrads on the early start up. Its going to be atleast several weeks or longer for mowing to start here. Come on spring time

 

Grass, what's that. All I can see is snow.

 

We.re starting on monday here too. Good and kinda bad as we still have some other landscaping work to do as well. I never would have thought in Feb. I'd be working 7 days a week. Maybe this is a sign it will be a good season.

 

Too much bermuda around here. Some of the fescue looks like it might pop, maybe later next week.

 

we have flurries right now in CT, buy the way we've almost had a full one inch of snow so far this year on the shore in CT. who has it worse than me?

 

And we're off!!! I think I'll come down there just so I can smell the aroma of the fresh cut grass!:dancing:

 

I haven't started mowing anything yet.. I'm just a few miles down the road from you. Maybe I don't have enough accounts. Anyways I agree it's getting warmer.

You are lucky because I have 4' snow banks at the end of my driveway. How many weeks will you mow for?

 

snow and ice everywhere ground is frozen grass in brown everywhere, and its sopost to be -10 towmarow, dont think well be mowing till late april early may....

 

If it is like last year, we will mow right up to the Christmas time frame. Also last year we got started at the 1st of March. I was shocked customers started calling. My only problem is trying to do spring clean up while kicking the mowers into high gear.

All yall in the Northern part of the country, just think, we give up snow plowing for an extra long mowing season. If memory serves me right it hasn't snowed here to accumulate anything since 2003.

 

Today 17 Feb 2007 my mowing season started in Coastal NC. I can't believe it. We've had good rain, the temps have been in the 50's, 60's and 70's, and the grass has jumped. I can only say that each one who's grass has jumped are customers who I put winterizing fertilizer down for back in the late fall and winter.

Are these lawns that you put annual rye on or just what kind of grass is it? The temps in New Bern just aren't nearly high enough for Centipede or Burmuda to grow yet. Here's a graph showing New Bern's temps for the month so far.

 

Ground Temps are in the 30s here. What are you growing?

 

I know later this week it's going to be rolling back up to the mid to upper 60's and Im hoping its gonna stay getting warmer..Id love to be cutting by at least mid-march.

Wow, that's pretty nice to start,it's been two days since your post and we are still loading out snow along Lake Erie.

 

50s and 60s here this week. All the snow is just about gone and hopefully Ill head out at the beginning of next week and start some spring cleanups. I usually start mowing the second week in March.
