Just got a new Eastman push/trim mower. Didn't do much of any mowing with it yet, but thought I'd share some pictures.

They no longer make this model. It is a 2009 but is brand new. Made in Maine and has a nice Honda 5hp engine and is super lightweight (78lbs)

Since Lawnboy stopped making the 2 strokes, I decided to go another route. Hoping to get a few decades of use out of this unit. My commercial Lawnboys will be up for sale soon if anyone is interested.

Simple no frills 20" cut, 1/4" thick cast aluminum deck, big 8" and 9" grease-able steel wheels, side discharge, manual propelled! Beefy wheel adjuster mounts, thick blade, blade guard.

From what I gather, yes, Sensation is very similar, but they were a hybrid rear/side discharge. This is side discharge.

Yes, all they make now is self propelled bagger units. I have no interest in bagging or self propelled. Just needed a simple push mower for pool gates and trimming banks.

Mulch? Don't know. Never mulched anything before. They say on the brochure that they have a mulch plate for it. They cost whatever a dealer is willing to let one go for! Not many, if any at any dealers. New old stock is what you'd be left with. I think they list for close to $900

Parts wise...they're still in business, but don't see needing many parts. I'm sure I can find blades and wheels (only thing I ever needed on my Lawnboys)

The dealer I buy from used to sell those and says they are really made well. It looks like it's well built and with no self propel system it should last a long time.
I hope so. Haven't cut with it yet, but the blade is fairly stout and has a decent lift wing.

Handles are strong, and it's light!

I'd like to find one of them around here in new condition, but I have yet to see one in any condition to be honest. Kinda reminds me of my old Jacobsen that I use. Talk about light, it's right around 45 lbs.
I started out in the very early 80's with an 18" Jacobsen pusher with a 3hp Briggs. It wasn't commercial, but lasted a good long while until the steel deck started cracking.

Mine is a 19", but it is all cast aluminum. It does have the 3HP B&S. It was built in 1970 and still going right along. It's all original except for the upper handle loop which I finally had to replace 2 weeks ago. I had an 18" for a little while with the disc and four small blades instead of a regular blade, and it too was a cast aluminum deck.

That Eastman is what I'd like to have to replace it with if/when it dies. That is a nice little moower that I wish more companies would make similar models of. We don't all need SP 21"er's.

I would have been happy with a Toro or eXmark pusher, but they're all self propelled and dedicated baggers. I'm sure there is someone out there making a simple side discharge pusher, but I think this is one of the few that's built for commercial use.

Awesome find!! How much was it and where did you get it? Sweet!!
I emailed Eastman and they steered me towards a dealer with a leftover. I'm pretty sure they were retailing for ~$900 when they were making them. I'm not saying I bought the last one in existence, but this dealer was halfway across the country that I ended up buying from.

Perhaps, with enough interest, Eastman could start making them again?

I’m bringing this topic back to life because I’d like to know if some here still have one or two.

I have two of them. They have been a great little push mower. They only weigh 78lbs and they push very easily. I purchased both around 13 years ago at a surplus company that picked them up when a Home Depot store stopped renting equipment. The cost was for $50.00 each. The original cost of these were around $900.00 each. They were barely used when I purchased them. They are simple and reliable. I still use one when it’s needed and the other was prepped for long term storage. The one being used still does not burn any oil.
