Anybody own one or have put in some seat time on one.
I'm back in the market for a tracked machine to run my sandbag attachment. I fell in love with the kubota svl75 I used a few weeks back. But I remember guys on here saying your not just buying a machine, your buying service. Closest kubota dealer is 30+ mins away and the next one is an hour away.

New Holland dealer is in same road as my new shop. They are also my Mahindra dealer(I have a 5010 tractor) and the same dealers bought my mustang Skidsteer from in 2009.

I was at the dealer dropping off my tractor for service and was chatting with the owners son(whom I'm good friends with). We got to talking about machines and he asked if i had bought a tracked machine yet. He offered me a demo of a New Holland C238. The only new holland skids I've ran was an old Ls180 and a C175(that I almost bought). I plan to really give the new holland a workout to see if it meets my demands.

Anybody have any opinions on them??

I guess I also feel comfortable at the new holland dealer. It's a small family owned dealer that has been in business for 30yrs.

I got a weird vibe from the kubota dealer (they are a huge dealer with multiple locations.) just seemed like me inquiring about one Skidsteer didn't really matter.

I rented SVL75's for three years, with a 90 thrown in the mix from time to time. They're nice, but they have some quirks that I didn't like. The dealer I rented from treats me great and I still rent stuff from them, but when it came time to throw down my cash I wanted to run some other machines nearby in my price range with low hours for comparison.

I couldn't find any Bobcats that weren't hand controls. I liked the TL140/240 Tak's, but their weren't any around in my price range. No CATs either. Well...lots of MTL's, but I didn't want to go there. I actually hadn't even given CASE or NH a second thought (even though I own a NH tractor.) Both nearby dealers are more Ag than construction oriented.

Doing a search online I found a CASE TR320 thirty minutes away. After running it on the guy's property for a couple hours...I bought it. It has it's quirks too, but overall it's a much stronger machine (no matter what Kubota puts on their spec sheets) and way more comfortable. The a/c is at least twice as good and it sips fuel compared to the 75.

Not trying to sell you, but at least you should check it out.

Krayz would you know anyone looking to sell a walk behind or stand on dingo? I'm in the market for one to use for landscaping.

I think you need to figure out what CTL is going to work best with your attachment. I don't post a lot but I read this forum a lot and it seems to me like you have had multiple threads about this brand CTL or that brand CTL. Every machine has issues like someone mentioned.

I think you need to figure out what you are willing to pay. Are you going to get in a payment or buy a used machine cash.

What do you need for lift capacity? Horse power?

Just seems like you are beating a dead horse with all these threads wondering about this CTL or that. Good luck in your search.

what about a mini wheel loader. It might just do what you need it to for sandbagging better than a ctl. Its my opinion that there are very very few situations where a skid/ctl is really the right piece of machinery, particularly if you need lifting capacity more then anything else.
He lives in Louisiana it's swampland down there. Ctl is great for landscaping and mowing

My sandbag machine is Skidsteer quick attach. Therefore I need a CTL. I know what size machine I need.

The kubota svl75 was a great match. I want to try out a new holland since I have a good business and personal relationship with the dealer.

I need to be able to move 3k # sandbags and run my attachment which is 2k# loaded with sand. I will also use this machine to run a brush mower to compliment my tractor on clearing/bushhogging work.

I don't want to buy a machine and a few months later wish I would gotten a larger machine. So I'm going to demo the new holland C232 & C238. More than 90% sure ill be buying new. I've had my headaches with used machines. Will also be getting an enclosed cab with joystick controls.

Sorry if my post seem bothersome to some of y'all. I'm looking for advice from guys who run these machines everyday.

If you're going to brush cut with the New Holland be careful of where the loader arms come down on the rear plastic fender. I've seen some of them crushed because there is no space between the arm and the plastic. I've seen this with snow too. The rear lights stick out past the door and I've seen almost all of them out there with broken rear lights.

There are several 380s around here. I also have a TR320. I would demo the NH, what could it hurt. You might even like it. I like my 320. The power is amazing really. It is not perfect, none are. While the NH are much the same there some differences between it and the CASE. It is mostly cosmetic but it is a more robust build I think.

I would echo what KSSS said. The fenders between the Case and the NH are different even though the machines mechanically are almost identical.

I went in to the dealer to order some filters for my tractor and spent a few minutes shooting the bull with my buddy.
They are waiting for a C232 & C238 to come in. They have 2x C227 on the lot. His dad came out to say hi and by the end of our conversation, they offered me a free week demo of one of the C227s, so I can get a feel for the machines.
