well I finally did it.. for a whole year I went back and forth thinking I wanted the lesco ride on spreader and was all but about to buy one Monday and then it hit me that I needed the sprayer too lol I don't know why I had never thought about it before so I called up the local toro dealer and he has one in stock and in my location the toro and z spray are the only two really available. So I go check it out and pull the trigger. So far all I've done is spread with it but I'm totally impressed. Why didn't I do this sooner? This is the only pic I have right now but I love everything about it so far. Time will tell

Sweet! How many sqft do the tanks cover? What is the swath width?
Is there a trim nozzle? Boom?
Is the impeller electric, hydraulic, gear-driven?
I have not had time to play with the spray part just yet but according to the dealer it's supposed to spray up to 10ft I think. That's with the two outside nozzles and the it's got a center nozzle that covers a narrower path. All i know right now is its 20 gallon and the pressure is adjustable and nozzles can be changed so I'm sure square footage can vary. And the impeller is electric which kinda concerned me but that dealer said they really hadn't had any issues yet. It has a dial to slow and speed up the impeller which I really like.

Well my plan for this thing is it's small enough to fit on my trailer with the mowers too. What I mean by that is before I was either spraying with my small tractor or a backpack and with the tractor it simply took up the whole trailer even tho it's small so in turn I had to go out on separate days to do treatment and same issue with spreading I used the tractor or push spreader. This thing will fit at the front of my trailer sideways with two mowers still behind it. So now if I have a lawn to treat I can do it while we're out instead of making another trip out. And it's small enough for the small lawns yet efficient enough for the big ones

However if we start to pick up more and more fert and treatment accounts then that sounds like a great idea. And who knows I might but at the moment I think it’s going to pay for itself just because I can say yes to those treatment jobs that I once was turning down because of lack of time and right equipment

I will say that this acquisition does complete zspray line. By adding the toro stand on spreader sprayer it now finally has a machine that is rackable. Please if you haven’t used the toro stand on don’t bash it. I own one now and it is the best rackable out there. I have used them all and the 2018 toro spreader sprayer is awesome. True in tank agitation. Now my round one is so so so inexpensive now that I can use wetable materials with true in tank agitation. So if they keep the rest of the Z line this will truly complete the line. Lots of us want a rackable machine. It’s not as maneuverable as a zero turn but wow it’s very maneuverable. Better than the T. Also no belts! And it runs circles around the PG and GL. So this could be a great thing if Zspray is going to continue the rest of the line. I truly suggest we let toro know that we want the line untouched. Toro/exmark listens to there customers so email them and call them and let your voice be heard.

Z spray has a rackable unit. The Jr 36r and still make them customers upon request. I bought mine in 2012 and I only had one real complaint. The engine was under powered. They were using 9.5 hp kholer motor and I have finally replaced it with a 13 hp Honda and it is night and day on my production. It has also allowed me to add the hopper extension for 200 lb capacity.

Has anyone tested the Toro on hills? After looking into the machine it looks like it could be a damn fine machine. The only worry I have is, again, the motor size. Have a lot of hills in my area and it's got the same sized motor that my jr 36r had. Just really struggled to pull hills, even when going side to side.

Hello,

This has been a brief but interesting thread. I realize it is a little old but I wanted to see how everyone's unit worked this season.

We are considering the Toro/Exmark unit now that is has been increased to the 14hp Kohler. We are in an area with very little to no hills at all.

How is everyone's unit holding up? Would you buy the unit again?

Thanks in advance!

I'm 100% satisfied with mine. The only complaint is lack of power which sounds like they've fixed and I did have my tie rods work loose one time this season. Other than that I think it's a great machine. I live the fact that it's more compact that other units.
