Hi,

I am trying to expand my yardcare business and I have recently accepted a few small flower bed installation jobs. I generally do weeding, hedge trimming, and mulching at an hourly rate of $30 - $35 per hour. I think I'm leaving money on the table when it comes to hedge trimming at that rate, and I am unsure of how to price things like shoveling dirt and planning. I could use some suggestions on prices for mulching, planting, hedge trimming, and moving dirt. Additionally, how should I price a 1x or 2x a month customer for general garden maintenance?

I guess the other question is: do you want to be the cheap lowball guy, the "affordable" guy, the middle of the road making enough money to justify staying business guy, or the top dog expensive guy? Or somewhere in between? Your ultimate business goals of where you want to end up will dictate to some degree your pricing. Your market as well.
Guys on here charging $30/hr and $150/hr for the identical service. Just depends who and where you are...

$30 minus taxes is $21-26an hr or so.
Gotta haul the weeds/ clippings so additional expense on that to dispose of. Overhead costs on top of that. Insurance, vehicle, equipment etc.
Yeah go get a job and have no headaches.
