My push mower primer does not seem to be pushing fuel into the carb, i called the repair shop and they said that the primer is to push air not fuel. Does this sound right? I have never heard that before. I am asking because there seems to be no reisitence when i push the bulb i took it all apart and cleaned everything and changed the primer bulb but i still have to prime the mower 10-15 times to start it. Anyone have any ideas what is going on here. :waving:

The plastic air filter bases that Briggs uses will warp in time and cause a air leak at the primer bulb port where it meets the carb. thus no air supply to the carb. to activate priming process. The proper fix is to replace the filter base assembly which happens to be part # 690243 for your engine,Or you can install as many as three gaskets on the base which happens to be part # 691894 for your engine,But in doing so do not over tighten the base.
