:clapping:Good News for us in Ontario, BlackMac, and like products have been de-regulated. You no longer need to have a permit.
What rules have been change and by whom? Any info you could give would greatly help. I do not think your saying plastic tote tanks are legal now like Loogie is suggesting. It must only be amount you are allow to carry.(up from 100 gallons):confused:

LOL No,No, you can't use plastic tanks :nono:

It basically says that under 450 liters (120 gallons) they Amendment 6 and 7 to the Dangerous Goods Regulation now allow the selection on non-standardized means of containment for the transportation of these dangerous goods while remaining in conformity with the regulation.

Though Permits for Equivalent Level of safety are no longer required or issued, certain requirements must nonetheless be met.

Small means of containment ( under 450 Ltrs)

Special Provision 89 of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulation, effective Feb 7, 2008 now applies to the transportation on UN1999, TARS, LIQUID.

Special Provision 89:

89 Despite subsection 5.12 of Part 5 Means of containment, until Jan 1, 2010, these dangerous goods may be transported on a road vehicle or a ship on a domestic voyage in a small means of containment if the small means of containment:

A - is a welded tank

B - is used for the application of liquid tar to pavement, concrete, or metallic structures and is fitted with the appropriate equipment and

C - is designed, constructed, felled, closed, secured and maintained so under normal conditions of transport, including handling, there will be no accidental release of the dangerous goods that could endanger public safety.

There you have it, so in short, same rules apply, just will be no permits issued. :dizzy:

Any tanks over 450 liters, need to be tested, inspected, and a long list of other stuff, and as most of us don't have lager tanks, I will not type it all out. If you want a copy, let me know.

Info should be at............
