I posted last week for advice on a replacement wheel/rim for my Scag Tiger Cub. Another LS member turned me onto a few online options and that was one of them. They list an exact replacement OEM wheel with matching numbers. Their price was $70 some dollars. Everybody else is $275-$300 bucks. I figured too good to be true so I figured I'd call them...after looking into their contact info etc. I find no phone number, address or any info at all. Way too shady looking for me to dump my credit card number so I passed, ordered the wheel from my dealer. I about cried when I forked over the dough for the wheel but that website looked to me to be trouble. It would be interesting to hear from others if they've done any business with them.

I seen that they didnt have a phone # as well and decided to find out. They list a few parts quite a bit cheaper than others, but just leery to give them my info without knowing.

My experience. I did not look for their contact info until I never received a confirmation of my part shipping. I ordered a throttle cable for a Stihl FS100RX and received a confirmation email with an order number the same day but nothing telling me when it would arrive. I then went to their contact us via the website option over two days ago with no response. At this point they have already taken my money the day I placed the order and I am stuck. I strongly suggest staying away from this site based on my experience. Trying to save a buck and got screwed. Going to the dealer from now on. :wall :realmad: :gunsfirin

If its only been a few days, i think its a little premature to start reversing charges, and claiming you got scammed. Some small companies and even big companies, have poor communication after the sale has been processed. The order confirmation emails are auto generated and sent out. I would slow the scam train down, and wait a few more days. If you needed it faster, then you should have gone to the dealer. ;)

I have ordered all kinds of stuff from some websites that look questionable at best, and never once thought about it. Why? because if its a scam, I 'm not liable if im using a CREDIT card. Most Debit cards have limited liability, check with your bank. But with my Amex, I am off the hook 100%. I have ordered engine parts, gun parts, even cuban cigars from Switzerland. Didnt always get a shipping confirmation, but they stuff always showed up...eventually.

I took the chance and placed an order 10 days ago with them but the Item still hasn't shipped. There was a phone number provided with the confirmation email and it IS a valid number. The number is for ProntoMowers in Boca Raton, FL (561)488-5555. I called to cancel the order and had no problems. Apparently they simply accept the orders but have items shipped from the manufacturer which explains the delay. I'll post any changes if problems should arise.

Thanks LMC for letting us know.

Yeah I just had some so-called contractor come out and look at my house for an estimate on work it needs done,
problem is he doesn't do any of the actual work, rather he subs everything out... Sound like a good plan?

Because he's not getting my money.
I don't pay people for sitting on their donkeys.

Same thing goes for drop shippers.

They can go return their shiny new ride to the dealership now, or wait until repoman comes around.
Next time try taking a risk and putting in a day's actual work.

I am finding that even small operations for parts have good communication systems. Order is placed, an e-mail comes quickly, with confirmation number, noting the status (e.g.in stock, backorder, etc.). When the order ships, the next e-mail provides shipping information and links to the shipper (e.g. USPS, UPS, FedEx). In the past year, I've been impressed with the quality of communication given to orders.

I've not dealt with the referenced online site. If it is a drop-ship operation, I would stay away.

Good prices, but waiting an entire month is not a luxury most people can afford. I can understand a manufacturer waiting a wk to ship, & maybe receiving a package 2 weeks later, but this is absurd.

The only time I would ever order from this company ever again is if i was able to save $50 & my equipment wasn't completely disassembled. It's a complete pain to have items strung out everywhere for a month waiting to put it all back together. For ex. if I could save $50 off a carburetor, sure that would be worth it.

Their prices are good, but not worth if it only saving $5 or $10.

I'm about to order from here. I'll try and post back how it turned out, but in case I don't, that means that nothing bad happened. I really don't think it's a scam or anything but whenever I go searching for part prices and find them on sites I never heard of, I google the sites, and this one turns up this thread and an arborist forum also about how it looks shady. The arborist site, they basically just said most of the parts aren't OEM and that's the bad part, but the part I need they have as OEM, and someone replied to the arborist thread that they have plenty of OEM, and OEM doesn't even always guarantee best quality/value for some parts.

The current phone number 561-488-5624 is listed under at least 2 other company names Hustler Lawn mowers and Pronto mowers and they all have the same address 8208 205 Place South Boca Raton, FL 33434. But that doesn't automatically mean it's shady for three companies under the same #. Small engines Pro Dealer has a Facebook that's up to date, but people comment 'is this site safe' lol.
I don't need the parts soon, so if it's a drop ship that takes a couple weeks longer, no problem, but I don't even think drop shipment would take too long. Seems like a couple years ago when this thread started, they might have been worse at conducting shipping.

I'm only posting this because some part website prices are ridiculous, and this site is known for discounts, so I want to help them help us.
They have a BBB accredited link on their home page, and I really doubt that they would still be running a scam since this thread started in sept 2013.
I'm paying with paypal which has buyer protection. As mentioned, credit card also gives you buyer protection of course. I really doubt this site is a scam but if it were, buyer protection will get your money back but might be a huge PITA process not worth it for certain purchases.

Following are 3 negative reviews for the Pronto mowers location, but everywhere is going to get some negatives now and then. One guy claims he brought his blower in for a free courtesy overview before his warranty ran out, and they said he ran it with straight gas instead of 2 stroke and messed up something which he claims is false, and they wanted ~$35 to put it back together.
Based on these pictures though, it just looks like a nice mower shop. I mean, you can also call them if you really want just to like chat before making a big order.

In other words, you can be confident this isn't some fake website or anything that just wants you credit card numbers, but like a lot of sites, you might get the luck of the draw and get a late or missed shipment or something but would be protected for that.

They still take orders, confirm right away...and tell you they will ship and simply NEVER do. Sought them to cancel refund and they stated....we will not cancel orders...I said you billed my CC on day of order and are not shipping...so how can you bill and never ship? Told several times....they may ship within the next year and therefore not going to cancel the order. SCAM operation..BBB shows them at "F" rating.

Smalleginesprodealer.com, stay away from this place. I chatted with a rep after waiting for a transmission to ship for about 3 weeks. He told me that the companies were having a hard time getting parts to build the products. And he said it will be a while before they had the part back in stock. So, I did a cancellation request and ordered it some place else. The very next day they the status changed to preparing to ship. Another guy sends me an email saying that it was too late to cancel the item. I also talked to a guy on the phone and he said I would have to follow their return policy. Well, he wouldn't tell me what it was. So, for transmissions, if they let you send it back there is a 40% restocking fee. This product did not ship for another 2 days. It could have been stopped at their end. I will never do business with this company again.

I don't know about them but I can say Small Engine Warehouse has done me right a few times
