Spindle bolt torque

Finally got the Ferris is700z put back together. I could not find a torque spec for the nut on top of the spindle. Ferris did not have a value either. The washer is a cone shape and it seems from the other two spindles, they cone is still in tact (not flattened by torque.).

Too tight and the spindle won’t spin freely, too loose and ?

Can anyone help with this please?

With that size nut it should be at least 150ft/lbs torque. Something is assembled wrong if you can tighten it too much that it won't spin freely. You should be able to turn it fairly easily with your hand.

I have to agree with @Johnagain . The nut on top should be 150# or more by manufacturers, exmark is up near 180#. The blade bolt is, depending on manufacture 60# to 80#...........
