Can anyone give a review on the Stihl KM 55 R or the KM 56 RC-E Kombi tool.
Looking to get one for occasional use with the hedge trimmer and pole pruner attachments.

If you were thinking of buying one of these I would jump to at least the KM 90 the 50 series is a homeowner series the 90 and up would be more for a professional.

I have the KM 55R and the KM 130R. The KM 55R Is not good for anything but the weed trimmer attachment. It lacks the power to run the hedge trimmer, stalls out with the pole saw and bogs down with the edger, you can forget about using it with the tiller. Now the KM 130R makes all these attachments sing :weightlifter:

Really?
I had a YardBoss, which had the 55 engine, and it had plenty of power to run the cultivator/tiller head (although it was full throttle all the time).
I can't imagine how it wouldn't be enough for the hedge trimmer either. That attachment hardly needs any power.

OTOH, my KM110R is just right for the pole saw and the edger, and could even use more power for the blower. Any of those attachments won't do well with a KM55.

My KM 55R would barely cycle the blades on the hedge trimmers and as soon as you start trimming it would just not cut, not enough power. The blades were oiled and sharp too. The KM 130R mows down any hedge branches that will fit between the teeth. Huge difference. I only use the KM 55R with the string trimmer attachment for that it works fine. The tiller attachment even works the the big KM 130R engine. I use it a lot in my garden for weeding in between the rows works great. Pole saw gets a lot of work too, a must have attachment.
Hope that helps.
