Picked up a used Toro super recycler. The two piece handle bar is sloppy with play even with the knobs tighten down.

Most two piece bars have a pivot point and then the bolt and knob.

Am i to understand Toro relies on the curved shape of the bottom of the upper handlebar to keep the it from pivoting?

Im half tempted to just drill and add a second bolt knob setup on each side.

Is there a single piece handle bar available?

If you aren't going to be using the folding feature, just have them welded permanently in the straight/upright position, or else bolt them, but the second option will weaken them a little since you are removing more metal from the flat/curved area. Been there, done that.

Ok so I'm not crazy. The fold feature doesn't interest me if it means that the feel and rigidity during use is compromised so badly.

I'll have my brother throw a tack weld or two on each side and hit it with a rattle can.

I looked at the parts diagram before asking the question thinking I was missing something.

Who designs this stuff? The fold feature is nice to have if it didn't make the bars feel like foam pool noodles.

If not I've got a extra bar off a 22156 you can have for shipping...I'm sure it'll treat you well.

A 22156 was the no longer available light commercial with the gsv190?

The super recycler has the personal pace that I'm considering swaping to the two bail anyways so that might work.

What's a rough shipping to 08052?
Welding is free. Haha.

I looked at a pick online. The way it attaches to the deck and handle bar supports looks different.

I'm not well versed with Toros. Will it definitely fit or am I looking at customization?
Probably b but I'm sure it's doable. I've got the brackets to so no need to get out the TIG.
