Are you adjusting the controller like you are supposed to?

Only other thing I can think of is that you have a bad trailer brake wire on the trailer, or a short somewhere.

Also, is it a dual axle with brakes on both axles?

Re read the manual and make sure your boost is set properly. Also if there is an issue with the wiring or controller there should be trouble codes displayed. Look at the trouble shooting chart in the manual. If no codes, I would assume you need to adjust your boost or power

 

The gain and sync are always needing to be adjusted. Also loaded and unloaded numbers are different

Thanks guys. I do adjust it to a lower setting if there is no load. I'm not using boost. No error c odes are displayed. When I apply the breaks they are weak. When I press harder the trailer skids. It's very annoying. I'd I turn the controller up itr just straight skids. When they installed the new brake controller it was working well, but now skidding again.
It's a dual axle less than 2 years old

Make sure the unit is securely fastened to the dashboard. I have seen them lose and each time the unit shifts around the unit needs to be set up again.

 

Whens the last time your trailer brakes were looked at?
