hey guys,
I have a bri Mar dump trailer in a Toyota Tundra. I had a very generic brake controller before but now I have the p2. a lot of times when I apply the brakes nothing much happens and then sometimes it's jerks really hard and skids. it is very frustrating because either way I can not stop the way I would like to. can anyone recommend something I'm doing wrong or something that I need to do differently. thanks very much. by the way this happens mostly when the trailer has little to nothing in it and iis light

Are you adjusting the controller like you are supposed to?

Only other thing I can think of is that you have a bad trailer brake wire on the trailer, or a short somewhere.

Also, is it a dual axle with brakes on both axles?

Re read the manual and make sure your boost is set properly. Also if there is an issue with the wiring or controller there should be trouble codes displayed. Look at the trouble shooting chart in the manual. If no codes, I would assume you need to adjust your boost or power

Thanks guys. I do adjust it to a lower setting if there is no load. I'm not using boost. No error c odes are displayed. When I apply the breaks they are weak. When I press harder the trailer skids. It's very annoying. I'd I turn the controller up itr just straight skids. When they installed the new brake controller it was working well, but now skidding again.
It's a dual axle less than 2 years old
