Japanese stiltgrass is 1/2 of a sprawling lawn of 1 acre. What product to use without killing the lawn? Anyone.

I have a little of this in a little piece of lawn I have (near a creek). If what I'm reading is correct, I don't see a post-emergent (selective) that will work and not kill cool season grasses. It's possible the site I got my info. from doesn't have knowledge of all postM's. Conceded.

If you have any bermuda, the ornamec will kill that, too.

Interested to hear what others have to say.

joelcoqui - That's japanese stiltgrass. 100% guaranteed. Most of the big LCO guys will tell you there's nothing you can do if you get it in your lawn. Lawn Doctor in my town said, "Use Roundup and then re-seed." That's BS. Acclaim Extra will kill japanese stiltgrass and will NOT kill normal cool-season grasses. It's a tough weed and you need to keep up with it year after year, though. I'll try to post a picture of my dying stiltgrass when I get home. Just read the Acclaim Extra label... Lastly, I emailed Dr. Dernoeden at the University of Maryland and he confirmed that japanese stiltgrass can be controlled by Acclaim Extra. You need to use a fan spray nozzle (mist) and you need good soil moisture. Also, use Barricade as a pre-M next spring.
