I've been renting a storage building across town for a while. I'm thinking about building a large shed at my house to eliminate renting. Question is how big is big enough. I saw a real big shed once at a jobsite but I can't find any info on one that big. It was like 14 or 16 x 30 or better. I have no idea how they delivered it but boy it was nice. So I'm thinking either 12 or 14 wide by maybe 20 ft long. Anyone have any pics of one they have? or ideas on this?

Go as big as you can afford, you can always use more space, My Garage is 24x24 and fits my truck and trailer nicely, although I would like to see more space

Bigger is always better. I got a 12 X 24 two years ago. Double doors on one end window on the other. Side door on one side and window. Back wall is all peg board. Work benches all around 3 sides and a loft. It will hold a Z and two WBs. The bad news is I just got another Z and another WB and a tractor. I think I will but up a steel 20X20 this year. If you got the bucks go big.

I'm solo own 5 acres. I'm thinking a 30x50 but debating about going 40 x 60. I would think you would want something that you could drive through and keep the truck and trailer under the roof.

How much space do you have and how big can you go on your property? Do some research on builds and sheds. There's some nice stuff out there that will require assembly but you can get them much cheaper then a pre-built. I kick myself every time I see the pre-built shed I bought.

I want to put a wide 2 car garage off the back of the house and make the attached garage a mud/laundry room. Kind of in a L shape with a breeze way. My only problem would be, I'd never be in the house, I'd be in the garage all the time and for anyone that's on a ball and chain, you know what I mean. LOL

Not sure how big the city will let me build. I already have a pole barn style 16x24 that I'm going to take down. I built the thing at the back of my yard which is approx 100 ft from the back of my house, not convenient at all for a shop/equipment storage. I just saw a 12x24 with 4 ft walls that looked real nice. I think I'll price it out tommorrow. I want to build it so the front wall is right on my fence line behind the garage. Then extend the driveway on the side of the garage up to the new shed. If anyone has pics that would be helpful.

No bigger is NOT better,
1 st check city ordances,
2 nd check the appraisal distric.
3 rd check to see if and when there going to make your proptery commerical.

Best answer so far! Zoning may dictate how large a building you are allowed!
