Has anyone ever tried to wire a hunter ICC 2 on 230v ?

Jim I had the sparky wire it by pulling one leg off of it. He wired it to the 230 wire in the clock. It worked for a couple days , then stopped. When I went back I put my meter on it and it was showing 15 v . So I switched the wire to the 120 wire at the clock. It worked for a couple days , then stopped. I ended up telling the builder that he had to get me 110 as I was told there would be 110 there when I started the job.

I believe hunter is using the term “neutral” in place of what most transformer diagrams call “common”. I have used these transformers many times when in a past life I was in the HVAC field and also in the irrigation world. The likely hood that Hunter has some proprietary trasformer as apposed to mislabeling a rebranded off the shelf transformer is doubtful.

Yes there are applications where 220 circuits include a neutral wire.
This is for wiring a sub panel (not wiring a load), your hot leg a and b are still only going to have 120v each.

the only time I've seen 220 needing neutral wire is for GFCI breakers , like in pond aerators. And it's not for the aerator motor it's for the breaker to work correctly to prevent a shock.
