I have a Deere 930m that the Key broke off in the ignition and need some advice on how to get the little bugger out of there and not have to buy an entire new ignition? Thanks.

First off, ya gotta remove the switch. Then ya can try the picks, etc. You also might try banging it down on a solid surface to mayhaps jar the key loose. Or just go get a new switch and be done with it, sheesh!

If all else fails:
I have had my key lock out and dismantled, off a Hustler Z,
Dismantle the ignition lock, then there are usually some metal flaps keeping the bottom on, twist them outwards and take the thing apart out, be careful not to loose any small balls and springs, maybe take some pictures along the way to look at putting it all back together.
Post the picture here if it works, otherwise go buy a new one and tell your self that you tried.

i remember someone telling me they put a small drop of fast drying superglue on the end of the key stub held this to the stuck key part when it dried they just pulled it out, note i haven't tried this and hope i never have to even think of trying it but if all else fails might be worth a try before paying for a new one

2 drops of "JB Weld' ... mix it together then dip the stub in the mixture, just wipe off about 80% of it off the end of the stub, or put it on the stub with a toothpick. Stick it in the lock, and come back tomorrow. One of two things... well, actually three things, it might work, but the key won't come out.

Crazy glue might work too, but the get the "Gel" stuff, not the runny stuff.

It really all depends what kind of tools are around, because if I have to go and buy a tool then I might as well buy the ignition switch while I'm out... That being said personally I would try a tiny flathead screwdriver, like the kind they use to work on watches with. Or some tweezers, can't really think of much else, I do have some hemostat forceps around that might work. Bang the lock is a good idea, also spraying lubricant in it, might heat it up a bit with the flametorch.

6 years old......but just replace the switch, by the time you do any one of those things you could have replaced it with little to no down time......
