Looking for an easy and legal way to secure mowers to landscape trailer. I came across the power-locker add in one of the trade magazines. Does anyone have any feedback on these or any other recommendations. Thanks in advance.
Any second thoughts on the straps? I really like the idea of having that spring to pull up the slack?I like the Erickson 34416 Retractable straps. Super fast an easy. About 30 secs per machine with 2 straps. I like them because I dont have to load the machines on the trailer the same way all the time. 2 straps will cost you about $35. My trailers have higher sides on them so I have a lot of convenient places to hook them too. May or may not work better for you than other suggestions.

Nope. IMO they're awesome. Yep, the spring is great. Fastest way I've found to secure mowers and other equipment. I especially like being able to easily move them around for different machines. Mowers, wheeled leaf blowers, quads, motorcycles, etc... I use my trailers for all sorts of things and the straps work great for everything.Any second thoughts on the straps? How bout something that locks in a certain position as you approach the "parked" position?
Jungle Jim's makes wheel chocks.Funny, I was just thinking about this earlier today for my trailer. I haven't came up with a solution other then my two straps as of right now. I'm considering doing some metal fabrication. Making like a wheel chock with a pin. Where I could pull the mower up on the trailer, drive straight into the wheel chock, and slide a pin on both wheels to secure it. Doesn't seem like it would be too hard. I cold make the pin slide behind the wheel which would keep it from moving. However, I'm trying to design something with a pin that slides over the top of the mower in case of an accident. I want something that will do the job and secure the mower from shifting, but I'm thinking more along the lines of something that will stop it from shifting while also protecting myself and others in the event of an accident.
I found them at Lowes today! I just happen to be needing new straps. I was using the "Pull Straps" which were pretty quick, but weren't very heavy duty. They would hold the push mowers, but had several break on the walk behinds. These seem well built, they are really fast once you get the hang of them, strong enough to ratchet "pull" the walk behind up to the very front of the trailer by ratcheting. Overall, I love them!my walmart has the same strap 2 pack different brand on them, for like 20$. if u really want some might look around and find them cheaper.
later!! Chris
