I am always reluctant to use snapshot because of concern about it pruning flower roots. But due warm weather weeds are abundant.

I would be more concerned about the Isoxaben component's effect on the flowers. A number of flowers are not to be treated with either Gallery or Snapshot because of their close relation to target weeds. With that kind of planting, I would use the highest allowed rate of Surflan or Barricade.

Its not just the Pendimethalin, it is the Dimethenamid-P. Freehand can cause floating stolons even on established Bermuda. The golf guys here use it or Specticle to control goosegrass. I have not seen problems applying Freehand to established shrubs and hedge plants. But those have deep root systems and no growing points in the area of application. Pendimethalin reduces root growth. Dimethenamid-P goes after shoots. I avoid application of Pendimethalin on desirable warm season grasses. I am dealing with either St Augustine or low cut grass with more stolon growth vs root growth. Zoysia seems to tolerate even high rates of Specticle because most of its root system is in underground rhizomes. The stolons are a minor part of the root system. What Pendimethalin does is not as much of a problem on high cut grass or grasses that are overseeded regularly. Last time I checked, there is no seed for St Augustine.

Barricade is one of the safer root inhibiting herbicides because of its limited mobility in soil. Pendimethalin is far more soluble and mobile in the soil. So is Surflan. I use those in VM situations where the primary weed problem is tall grassy weeds and Imazapyr is not an option due to surrounding trees or plants.

Ed,

I like a tank mix of Barricade 65 WG and Gallery 75 DF (Lowest Rate) applied in 3 gallons H2O per 1,000.

When doing 1 app per season the rate is 2lb/Acre of the Barricade and 0.66lb/Acre of the Gallery.

Over the Top of Mulch/Established plants.

When doing the split app plan, then 1 lb/acre Barricade and 0.66 lb/acre for the highest weed pressure timing application (spring in NJ) and in the late summer the 2nd of the split apps goes down using Barricade only at the 1 lb/acre rate. This works well for me and easy on the plants not on the label list(s)

I tried snapshot years ago but I was not a big fan of the product. I do not offer a Mulch service to clients and with the A.I. Trifluralin as one of the components, it needs to be applied directly before mulching as so it does not gas off.

Interesting, we did that for several years, really need to do it again.
