Wanting to get my son into working with me on the weekends. I’m thinking about getting him a Stihl br200 blower. The weights not bad and doesn’t seem too big. He’s 9 and about 5 foot tall. Has anyone thought about this for their kids? Or actually got their kids one? Just curious if he’ll be able to comfortably use it as intended. I haven’t had a chance yet to get him to the dealer to try one on and not sure when I’ll be able too due to his school schedule and my work schedule.
Also not trying to be rude what so ever. I know that I can get a cheaper, different brand, handheld with more CFM blah blah blah but that’s not the route I want to go. Thanks for any help with my question.

I bought that same blower for my boys when they were 5 and 7. A little big for the 5 year old but the older boy was a good fit. They're older now and the youngest gets the 200with ease at 7 years old and 4.5 foot tall.

I bought a BR200 for my then 8 year old daughter. She can't pull-start it, but handles it just fine when running. And she's tall & lanky. Take off the extra discharge pipe - It'll make it easier to swing, and just generally easier to use for them.

Biggest trouble is with HER blowing everything off to my standards. But we'll get there. :)

If you have the $300 or so to spend, and want to, then buy it. He may need help starting, but it's a totally feasible machine for kids.

I got one for my 8th birthday. Great blower for someone that young. It got my used to the basics of how to use a blower, and the tips and tricks involved. Using it taught me how to service a blower as well. If your kid wants to work, its a great option. Plus, I've never had problems with mine outside of spark arrestor screens.
