Hey Guys,
This is the rough draft for my money mailer ad. Money Mailer is a popular ad delivery service in my area, kind of like a bunch of large postcards in an envelope. The stipulation is you have to offer a coupon. That is what makes so many people open it.

The coupon is going to change, they put in a defult coupon because I have not decided what the offer is going to be yet.

Also, yes, I did steal the line from a thread on lawnsite, but the person who wrote it said it was up for grabs.

This is my first time posting an attachment, hopefully it goes through

good luck with it. we ran the money mailer ad 2 years ago hands down worst advertising we did. For the money ur better off handing out 10,000 fliers or postcards to houses that u wanna target.Try the local newspaper. Everyone that called were the cheapest people i ever gave estimates to.

That is a great looking ad. I hope you DO do well. However, I must say,...the bit about the free fert. ap is a bit too much. Sometimes, if you put a gimmick in there, and it is too extreme sounding, it can actually do the opposite and work against you by scaring people away. And yes,...a fert. ap, though not costing that much, might screw other things up with them, as if they have another fert. service, this keeps this offer totally worthless. Now, if you doing fert. aps and ONLY fert. aps, then that would be a different story. It does have some pluses to it, though.

Runner - I am changing the offer, The artist put that in as a defult coupon because I had not specified an offer yet. I may go with a free mowing with a yearly contract.

I know some people have had bad luck with this, but I am going to try it. I am commiting to 20,000 homes, and it will cost me a total of $550. It's not the end of the world if it doesn't work. I am also doing door hangers and newspaper ads, and I'm sure I'll get a few from word of mouth.

I wanted to give it a try, because in my area it seems to be really popular. There are certain companys that I do business with locally that have money mailer ads and seem to do very well with it.

I'll let you know what kind of response I get, I have 10,000 going out mid march, and 10,000 going out mid april.

Thanks for the reply's guys:usflag:

Hey Guys,
I had forgotten that I had posted this before the season started. I had pretty decent results from the ad. I picked up 6 new clients for mow and go, 2 fert and squirt customers, 2 customers that want mowing, fertilizing, aerating and overseeding, and a couple of small mulch jobs.

It doesn't sound like a lot, but to put it into perspective.... The six mow ingclients if they stay for the season will net $4992, the fert and squirts $600, The full service $2514. This is after deducting for the free mowing and free application.

That brings in around $8000 off of an $825 investment (I went 30,000 homes instead of 20,000)

The stipulation for my coupons were that the 10th mowing was free, and the last fert application was free (I do a minimum of 5 per season, and try to upsell more).

I am happy with the results, and I will probrably do this again next season

Well that's a nice looking card, and you got some results.

But 10 accounts from 30K cards for 800 bucks?

I realize the total return on investment might sound good, but you can probably get BETTER results by passing out a couple thousand flyers and spend a LOT less than that.

I looked pretty hard at the direct mailing thing. Problem is, that they wanted to shrink-wrap my card with about a dozen others. The vast majority of them will end up in the trash without even getting opened. At least with a flyer, the homeowner will actually glance at it before throwing it away, lol.

It is true that I would not rely solely on this form of advertising, I also do fliers, newspaper, phone book, and am looking at a testing a local A.M. radio station.

The 10 clients that I gained could stay with me for years. I am much better off having done the advertising than without it. If I had not done it, I would have 10 less clients this year.
